II. THE REST
LIKES:
+Birds
(women)
+Music
+Scotch and coke tipples
+History (quite the history nerd)
+Music
+People- Now we all know that John can be a bit... feisty around people he doesn't know well. But in truth, John really does love people. They interest him. Their different behaviors and methods of daily life have a certain capture on his interest. He'll often provoke responses with crude comments and actions, simply to get a rise out of someone.
+Close friends- Though John does like his privacy, there are people in his life he'd rather have around him all the time. Like George, Ringo and Paul, he's well attached to them and finds it more comforting than annoying to be around them.
DISLIKES:
-Idiots
He cannot stand them and will often go to great lengths to point out their flaws. But as John is a bit brighter than most, he sees many people as such.
-Birds (women)
This is a two way situation. He finds them to be A LOT of work. Only good for a shag, really. He respects them though.
-People
Another good and bad aspect. He also can be very intolerant of people.
-Invasion of privacy
The only people he really likes around him 24/7 are his mates; Paul, Ringo and George.
-Uptights
He's rather
this way himself but doesn't like when others behave in an uptight manner.
-Obedience
Rebellious is his middle name. Tell him to stay in line, and he's out the door. Set up a border, and he's halfway across it. Nothing is off-limits in his eyes.
► OVERALL PERSONALITY: In the realm of John Lennon, there are two roads, the wrong way and the John way. Outside observers may not agree with this ideal of his, but it seems to propel him through life like a silver lining. In his eyes only he can be the only one to make things important, he pokes fun at other people’s problems with his wit and sarcasm, mocking their lives to cover up his own shortcomings. He certainly isn't above making someone else cry to make himself feel better. He's the rough one that isn't going to give you a hug because your granny died, he’d probably be the first to tell you to stop rolling in your own self pity and get on with your life, like he did his. Which is why John isn’t the one with the most friends. Even when he does try to be friendly, his sense of humor is rather rough around the edges and hard to get use to the idea that he isn’t trying to be rude, but simply stating his mind and having a bit of fun.
John can also be rather sweet, though. If he really notices someone is having trouble or is having a hard time, he isn't going to try and hurt them. If you are on his good side he may give you a helping hand and perhaps try harder than he usually does in the acquaintance of other people. When it comes to love, John much rather believes in shagging than long term. The thought of kids, as he is still only 22, scares him. But if a bird happens to come his way he won't be above hitting on her. He’s quite notorious around town for his antics and rash behavior, as nothing seems to be done without the theatrics and sarcastic jokes he’s known for. One of his only soft spots in life is his best mate, Paul McCartney who he has known since he was a teenager. John is his one, go-to person in life. With his mother gone, and his father rather unknown, he relies on Paul for just about everything.
John can be classified as very standoffish to people he does not know. But to a wiser eye, it has been seen that he is simply trying to cover up for the hurt he hides away inside. With so much anger trapped within, John often focuses his frustration out on the wrong people at the worst of times. Paul has been one of the only people in his life to tolerate him for all the things he is.
Music is one of the biggest passions in his life. Alongside art and writing, He’s had a guitar in his hand since he was fourteen. But his musical career did not take off until he met the rest of the boys.

HISTORY: Lennon was born in war-time England, on 9 October 1940 at Liverpool Maternity Hospital, to Julia and Alfred Lennon, a merchant seaman who was away at the time of his son's birth. He was named John Winston Lennon after his paternal grandfather, John "Jack" Lennon, and then-Prime Minister Winston Churchill. His father was often away from home but sent regular pay cheques to 9 Newcastle Road, Liverpool, where Lennon lived with his mother, but the cheques stopped when he went absent without leave in February 1944. When he eventually came home six months later, he offered to look after the family, but Julia—by then pregnant with another man's child—rejected the idea. After her sister, Mimi Smith, twice complained to Liverpool's Social Services, Julia handed the care of Lennon over to her. In July 1946, Lennon's father visited Smith and took his son to Blackpool, secretly intending to immigrate to New Zealand with him. Julia followed them—with her partner at the time, 'Bobby' Dykins—and after a heated argument his father forced the five-year-old to choose between them. Lennon twice chose his father, but as his mother walked away, he began to cry and followed her. It would be 20 years before he had contact with his father again.
Throughout the rest of his childhood and adolescence, he lived with his aunt and uncle, Mimi and George Smith, who had no children of their own, at Mendips, 251 Menlove Avenue, Woolton. His aunt bought him volumes of short stories, and his uncle, a dairyman at his family's farm, bought him a mouth organ and engaged him in solving crossword puzzles. Julia visited Mendips on a regular basis, and when he was 11 years old he often visited her in Liverpool, where she played him Elvis Presley records, and taught him the banjo, learning how to play "Ain't That a Shame" by Fats Domino.
The Beatles evolved from Lennon's first band, the Quarrymen. Named after Quarry Bank High School, the group was established by him in September 1956 when he was 15, and began as a skiffle group. By the summer of 1957 the Quarrymen played a "spirited set of songs" made up of half skiffle, and half rock and roll. Lennon first met Paul McCartney at the Quarrymen's second performance, held in Woolton on 6 July at the St. Peter's Church garden fête, after which McCartney was asked to join the band.
George Harrison joined the band as lead guitarist, even though Lennon thought Harrison (at 14 years old) was too young to join the band, so McCartney engineered a second audition on the upper deck of a Liverpool bus, where Harrison played Raunchy for Lennon. Stuart Sutcliffe, Lennon's friend from art school, later joined as bassist. Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Sutcliffe became "The Beatles" in early 1960. In August that year The Beatles, engaged for a 48-night residency in Hamburg, Germany, and desperately in need of a drummer, asked Pete Best to join them. Lennon was now 19, and his aunt, horrified when he told her about the trip, pleaded with him to continue his art studies instead. After the first Hamburg residency, the band accepted another in April 1961, and a third in April 1962. Like the other band members, Lennon was introduced to Preludin while in Hamburg, and regularly took the drug, as well as amphetamines, as a stimulant during their long, overnight performances.
Brian Epstein, The Beatles' manager from 1962, had no prior experience of artist management, but nevertheless had a strong influence on their early dress code and attitude on stage. Lennon initially resisted his attempts to encourage the band to present a professional appearance, but eventually complied, saying, "I'll wear a bloody balloon if somebody's going to pay me". McCartney took over on bass after Sutcliffe decided to stay in Hamburg, and drummer Ringo Starr replaced Best, completing the four-piece line-up that would endure until the group's break-up in 1970. The band's first single, "Love Me Do", was released in October 1962 and reached #17 on the British charts. They recorded their debut album, Please Please Me, in under 10 hours on 11 February 1963, a day when Lennon was suffering the effects of a cold, which is evident in the vocal on the last song to be recorded that day, Twist and Shout. The Lennon/McCartney songwriting partnership yielded eight of its fourteen tracks. With few exceptions—one being the album title itself—Lennon had yet to bring his love of wordplay to bear on his song lyrics, saying: "We were just writing songs ... pop songs with no more thought of them than that–to create a sound. And the words were almost irrelevant". In a 1987 interview, McCartney said that the other Beatles idolised John: "He was like our own little Elvis ... We all looked up to John. He was older and he was very much the leader; he was the quickest wit and the smartest".

► ROLE-PLAY EXAMPLE:
Note: This is from a Sherlock roleplay I did once.
James Moriarty observed her snap back into reality as if her mind had been drifting away on some sea of dreams and fantasy but his voice acted as if it were a sharp knife and sliced right through her hazy thoughts. He watched her study his face and the entire rest of his frame almost questioningly, her cheeks that had been so pale a minute before now tinted dark pink and near red as if she had applied blush to them. His own dark optics hinted excitement and even a tad bit of jubilation since he had been noticed by her. Jim also observed that when she spoke her greeting and question to him that her words sounded hinted with a certain small level of anxiety and it was almost as if she fancied him already the way she gazed and gawked. He ran his hand and fingers through his short, ebony hair for a moment and continued to grin charmingly, determined to make as good a first impression upon her as he could which he must seem welcoming, friendly and attractive to do properly. So he decided to do so and to start it off he must reply to what she had asked him just a second ago.
"I don't believe I need anything in particular at this moment." Jim glanced towards the chair he had just been offered by her and squeezed up a quick smile, grabbing his mug of hazelnut coffee and moving places. Once comfortably seated, he proceeded to read over the noir type. It seemed it was a resume' and it also seemed that this woman had been in the army... and a sniper in the army at that. Lord, he really could use somebody alike to her on his side! Perhaps she'd find a new job tonight as his sniper and perhaps it had been the fact she could not find a job that she had looked so down and discouraged when she had first walked into the shop. There. Most likely he had already put two and two together about what she'd been up to earlier. Now he would probably just needed to coax her to join him. But how?
Something out of his own mind quite quickly answered the mental question of his: with charm of course! Oh that would be just too easy! Most women he had met in the past had been easy to seduce and fascinate. "Thank you very much for this kind motion of yours." He smiled at her, eyes twinkling almost as much as the emotion expressed plainly and openly on his visage. Then he decided it was time to go down to business. "I see your resume' here and I presume you are out searching for a place to work? I have a job I could offer to you because seem just the person for it and you're... quite beautiful too." There. This was bound to be a piece of cake to do.
